tldr: We're two American roommate best-friend cofounders living in the United States and incorporated out of Delaware as PocketCITY, Inc. and building Cert++ together. When a user subscribes, our payment processor Stripe handles the transaction and we never see your billing information aside from name and email address.
When you chat with Certle, our AI helper, we record the conversation and share it with OpenAI, which powers Certle.
If you allow advertising cookies, Meta and Reddit tell us which of our ads brought you here. You can turn them off at any time in section 5 of the Privacy Policy.
We want happy customers, not begrudging subscribers. If Cert++ isn't right for you, ask within 30 days of purchase and we'll refund you in full, for any reason.
Welcome to Cert++! This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use our website and services. By using our website and services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Our databases store the most limited amount of information necessary to provide our services. The information we collect falls into two categories: information you provide and automated information collection.
When you create an account, we collect your email address. We use it to provide our services and to contact you about your account. If you allow advertising cookies, we also send a hashed copy of it to Meta and Reddit to measure our ads, as described in section 5. We do not sell your email address or use it for any purpose not stated in this policy.
We collect, store, and reserve the right to use your exam practice data (such as questions answered, scores, and progress) for research and development purposes to improve our services.
When you use our AI features, such as chatting with Certle, we record your conversations. See section 4 for details.
We use the information collected for the following purposes:
Apart from the AI conversations described in section 4 and the advertising measurement described in section 5, we do not share personal information with third parties. If we start sharing it in other ways, we will update this policy and notify you by email. We may share general site usage patterns stripped of meaningful personally identifiable information with our analytics provider(s).
We affirm that we do not engage in any of the following activities:
Some features, such as chatting with Certle about a practice question, use AI models from OpenAI. When you use these features, we record your conversations, including your messages, the AI's replies, and the practice question you asked about.
We share all AI conversations with OpenAI. OpenAI uses them to generate replies and may use them to improve the quality of its services. We also use them to improve the quality of Cert++. Please don't put information in an AI conversation that you don't want recorded or shared. You can read how OpenAI handles data in its privacy policy.
If you add your own OpenAI API key on your account page, the key stays in your browser. We send it to OpenAI with each AI request and do not store it on our servers. OpenAI bills your account for those requests, and OpenAI's terms and your OpenAI account's data settings also apply to them. We still record and share those conversations as described above.
We advertise on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Reddit. To learn which ads bring people to Cert++, we use the Meta Pixel and the Reddit Pixel on our website, and our servers report the same events to Meta and Reddit through their Conversions APIs.
These tools record the pages you visit on Cert++ and actions such as finishing a readiness assessment, creating an account, starting checkout, and completing a purchase, including its amount. To match those events to an ad click, Meta and Reddit receive the cookies and click IDs they set in your browser, your IP address and browser details, and, when you are signed in, a hashed copy of your email address and Cert++ user ID. Reddit's pixel may also hash an email address you type into a form on our site. A hash is a one-way code: Meta and Reddit compare it with codes made from their own users' details and cannot turn it back into your email address.
Meta and Reddit use this data to measure and improve the delivery of ads, under their own policies: Meta Privacy Policy and Reddit Privacy Policy.
In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, nothing is sent until you allow it. Elsewhere these cookies are on by default and you can turn them off here. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to turn them off. Your choice is saved in this browser and applies to the server-side events too.
Advertising cookies are off in this browser.

Our services are not intended for use by children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13, we will take appropriate steps to remove that information.
We store your personal information as long as you continue to use the service, or longer if required by law. You may delete your account (along with all of its data) at any time from within the application. You may also request deletion directly from us via email at legal@pocketcity.app, and we will act on such requests in a timely and professional manner.
Some user data may be deleted at our sole discretion at any time, including temporary data, logs, or data that is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. We make no guarantee that we will maintain or store user data, except as required by law.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and we will notify you of any significant changes in the way we treat personal information.
