The OAuth 2.0 Client Credentials flow enables server-to-server integrations where Salesforce acts as a client application accessing an external system without user involvement. This flow is selected when service-level access is required, allowing the Salesforce org to authenticate using a client ID and client secret rather than individual user credentials.
