A mutual success plan (also called a mutual action plan or mutual close plan) is a shared document between a seller and buyer that maps the critical steps, owners, and dates required to successfully purchase, implement, and derive value from a product or service. It works backward from the buyer's desired outcome to create a structured, two-way roadmap for the sales cycle. The sales rep owns the plan and uses it as a single source of truth throughout the engagement.
