Tableau Server two-node deployments are optimized for workload isolation but lack the redundancy required for high availability. Because they concentrate critical infrastructure processes on single machines, they contain unavoidable single points of failure that can halt operations during hardware or software issues. Eliminating these vulnerabilities requires expanding to a three-node architecture and distributing key services across multiple nodes.
