When Tableau Server processes scheduled extract refreshes, it caches the resulting query data to speed up initial workbook loads for users. If dashboard data appears stale after a successful refresh, the workbook caching configuration is likely preventing the cache from updating. Adjusting this setting forces the server to recompute query results after each refresh cycle.
