The Idempotent Message Validator prevents duplicate processing when a non-idempotent HTTP POST is retried due to network timeouts or client-side retries. It evaluates a unique identifier for each incoming message and checks an Object Store to block repeated executions. When a duplicate is detected, the component halts the flow and throws a MULE:DUPLICATE_MESSAGE error.
