A Mule runtime cluster groups multiple independent Mule nodes or replicas into a single logical unit that shares memory and state across a distributed grid. This architecture enables active-active processing, automatic failover, and synchronized access to shared resources like Object Stores and VM queues. It exists to eliminate single points of failure and ensure high availability for mission-critical integrations without message loss.
