Lightning Web Components use the @wire decorator to connect to Apex methods annotated with @AuraEnabled(cacheable=true). This setup enables client-side caching to improve performance by checking local storage before making server calls. Developers must manually refresh this cache using refreshApex() when underlying data changes because the standard Lightning Data Service does not manage Apex-provisioned data.
