The Salesforce business analyst (BA) is a project-based, business-improvement role that elicits, documents, and analyzes requirements around business challenges, then produces data-driven solutions. The BA acts as an interpreter between IT (information technology) and business stakeholders so those groups can work toward the same result. Adjacent delivery roles can share some tasks, but they are not interchangeable: admins operate and maintain the Salesforce org, functional and technical consultants typically lead consultations or specialized technical change, and architecture and build are supposed to follow analysis rather than replace it.
