Ideation is the practice of generating a range of solution ideas before anyone builds, so a team can align options to customer jobs and avoid paying later to rebuild the wrong thing. Prototyping is a cheap first-pass sketch of an idea, not a finished product, so mixed groups can react, improve, and pitch a concept. Together they turn customer-discovery findings into solution options stakeholders are more likely to adopt because they helped create them.
