A Salesforce business analyst is the interpreter between IT and business stakeholders: the go-to person who keeps both sides working together toward the same results. The role exists because stakeholder needs and developer work can miss each other when time, attention, expectations, or language get in the way. The BA carries those needs to the project team and checks that they have been met when the solution is delivered.

Core information
  • Think of the Salesforce business analyst as an interpreter: they are the go-to person for communication between IT and business stakeholders so everyone involved can work together to attain the best results.
More details and nuances
  • Salesforce BAs do not need to be super technical. A basic understanding of the platform, staying current with platform changes, and enough knowledge to understand capabilities and limitations is enough, because the technical Salesforce work is done by the Salesforce admin.
