User acceptance testing (UAT) is the last stage before go live: end users and other stakeholders test a project or enhancement in a sandbox to confirm it matches what was originally requested and is ready for business use. The business analyst typically leads and coordinates that work because they already understand the system's intent from requirements. Without that involvement, the wrong testers or incomplete scripts can produce a sign-off that still leaves major gaps in production.
