The methodology a Salesforce project uses changes when a business analyst elicits requirements, how far those requirements can still move, and how the BA documents and tests the work. Waterfall assumes requirements are known up front and delivers one result at the end; Agile elaborates requirements in short cycles with stakeholders involved the whole way. Salesforce Adaptive Methodology uses waterfall so the customer can approve scope and design, then Agile sprints so the customer can keep reprioritizing the work that delivers the most business value.
