Salesforce stores each organization's schema, processes, layouts, user access, and other configuration as metadata, then a runtime engine generates the live application from those definitions. Many organizations share one hardware-software stack, but each still sees only its own data and schemas because the platform materializes objects and behavior from that tenant's metadata at runtime. That metadata-aware model is why the platform can auto-generate lists, forms, and record create/read/update/delete, and why developers can often configure structure and process instead of coding every screen.
