Lightning web components and Aura components run behind a client-side security layer that stops a component from reading data that belongs to platform code or another namespace, and that blocks or changes insecure JavaScript APIs. An org uses Lightning Web Security (LWS), which isolates each namespace in a virtual JavaScript sandbox, or Lightning Locker, which wraps objects in safer versions. LWS also strips risky markup out of HTML a component inserts into the DOM, but it does not clean typed-in user input, so each component must still sanitize values it receives from parents, apps, or URL parameters.
