The Flow Builder debugger is the Debug option in Flow Builder for testing that a flow works as expected or troubleshooting a failed run. It shows step-by-step how the flow executed and which path it took. Unless you choose rollback mode, a debug run actually performs the flow's actions, including DML operations and Apex code, so treat those runs as live work in a sandbox.

Core information
  • Open the flow in Flow Builder, click Debug, set the debug options and input variables, those options vary by flow type, then click Run. Debug details appear in the right panel as cards that highlight key information about the run; you can search the results, copy the debug log to the clipboard, and resize the panel.
More details and nuances
  • If you debug without selecting Run flow in rollback mode, the flow performs its actions, including DML operations and Apex code execution, and closing or restarting the flow does not roll back previously run actions, callouts, or changes already committed to the database. Select Run flow in rollback mode to keep debug runs from changing data, and build and test in a sandbox because a successful debug can update records.
