Secure data retrieval is the Einstein Trust Layer's first step when a prompt needs live Salesforce context. It adds extra org data to the prompt, called grounding, so a large language model (LLM) can generate a more relevant, personalized response. Retrieval uses only data the user executing the prompt can already access, so generative AI does not bypass Salesforce permissions.
