Agent versioning is the lifecycle for iterating on an Agentforce agent as a series of snapshots instead of editing an activatable design in place. You work in an editable draft, then commit a version to freeze it in metadata so it can be activated. After a commit, further changes require a new draft, a new version you can edit until you commit it, so you can test, keep a backup, and revert by switching versions.
