CRM merge fields let Prompt Builder ground a prompt template with live Salesforce record data so the language model (LLM) can write personalized output from current CRM values. You insert them as placeholders in the Prompt Template Workspace; when the template is resolved into a prompt, those placeholders are replaced with actual field data such as a recipient's name and company. Use this grounding technique when the prompt needs structured facts from a Salesforce record or related list, not unstructured knowledge from articles, emails, chat transcripts, or the web.
