A Flex prompt template is Prompt Builder’s catch-all type: you choose it when no other template type covers the job, and you define your own Salesforce objects as resources so the model can write content for that unique business case. Unlike a field generation template, which is built to fill a Lightning record field after a user clicks a button, you call a Flex template from custom UI, an invocable action, REST or Apex, or a flow, wherever that use case belongs. Enable each Flex template on the page or process that matches its inputs; a newsletter that needs Product, Campaign, and Event records does not live on the same page as a Case follow-up text.
