Agentforce Data Libraries use Data 360 to index Knowledge and files that an agent retrieves. You can copy those libraries into a sandbox to test grounding, but the sandbox receives metadata only, not files, article data, or connection credentials. Changes you make to a Data Library in a sandbox cannot be deployed to production or another sandbox, so lasting library setup belongs in the org that will run the agent.

Core information
  • Agentforce Data Libraries require Data 360 to be set up, a Data 360 sandbox to be provisioned, and Data Library licenses and permissions, and those libraries consume Data 360 credits.
More details and nuances
  • Connections replicate without authorization data, so they sit Inactive until you enter credentials in the sandbox. After you turn on Data 360, wait about one hour before activating them so background processing can finish; once a connection is active, its data streams become active and data can flow. Activating the Salesforce CRM home org connector changes the CRM connection from the production org ID to the sandbox org ID, so the sandbox pulls from sandbox CRM data rather than production.
