Hybrid reasoning is how the Atlas reasoning engine runs two styles of thinking in one place: probabilistic reasoning from a large language model (LLM) for conversation, and deterministic rules for business logic. It exists so an agent can stay flexible in chat without depending on the LLM to interpret every policy, sequence, and customer state from a large natural-language prompt. You get that mix by writing Agent Script, which pairs conversational instructions with programmatic expressions such as if/else, variables, and transitions.
