Agentforce (Default) is the original org-wide AI assistant for employees: you turn on a Setup setting and get one shared agent. Agentforce Employee agent is the replacement type: you create agents from Employee templates so different teams can get specialized help with their own access rules and channels. Starting June 17, 2025, Default no longer receives new features and is not available in new Salesforce environments, so Salesforce recommends migrating existing Default agents to Employee agents.
