The Einstein Trust Layer hides sensitive information in a prompt before that prompt is sent to a large language model (LLM), so personally identifiable information is not exposed to an external model. It identifies what to hide in two ways: pattern-based masking scans prompt text for sensitive formats and names, and field-based masking hides Salesforce fields you have already classified or encrypted. After the LLM replies, the Trust Layer restores the original values so the person using the feature sees the real data.
