An entitlement process is the path Salesforce runs on a case or work order after that record is linked to a customer entitlement that has a process applied. It exists so every matching support record on that entitlement gets the same milestones and the same warning, violation, and success actions, then leaves when the record is closed or a custom formula says to exit. A process runs only on records of its type, so cases and work orders cannot share an entitlement if you use processes for both.
