A pipeline forecast submission is a sales rep's or manager's best estimate of the revenue or quantities they expect to close during a forecast period. Submitting takes a snapshot of the forecast at that moment, typically weekly. Management then compares the current forecast against the submitted numbers and quota, and uses any difference to inform the forecast for the sales team and the business.
