When a record is created, updated, or deleted, Salesforce can run a record-triggered flow before it writes the record to the database or after it writes the record and assigns an ID. Before-save flows exist to update or validate that same record during the original save, without a second write. After-save flows exist for work that needs the saved record, such as related records, email, or system fields Salesforce fills in only after the save.
