A Lightning console app is a workspace where agents keep several records open as tabs. Each record’s layout is a Lightning page you design in Lightning App Builder (the drag-and-drop page designer) and then assign to that console app so users always see the same regions, fields, and related work. Console-oriented templates split the screen into a wide main area and two sidebars, and pinned templates freeze those regions in place while the agent switches nested tabs (subtabs).
