A multilevel master-detail relationship stacks parent-child links so a detail object can itself be the master of another object, up to three custom detail levels. The stack keeps related records tightly bound: the top master controls deletion and sharing for the records below it, those records appear as related lists on parent pages, and values can be summarized up the chain one hop at a time. Unlike a single master-detail pair, the middle object is both a child and a parent.
