Report filters narrow which records from a report type appear so you can ask a more specific question of the same data. Filter logic then changes how those field filters combine: by default every field filter must match, but you can switch to OR, NOT, and parentheses. Together they let you scope results, and lock that scope on the run page, without writing code or formulas.
