User Interface settings are org-wide on/off switches that set how Salesforce looks and behaves for everyone, including record pages, lists, sidebars, calendars, and Lightning navigation, without designing a page. Admins change them from Setup by searching User Interface and need the Customize Application permission; the available switches vary by edition. Use this page for org defaults; App Manager, page layouts, mini page layouts, and compact layouts still control app structure and which fields appear.
