Quick actions let users create or update records, log calls, send email, or run custom Lightning, Visualforce, flow, or canvas tools without leaving the page they are on. Salesforce offers two flavors: object-specific actions, which run in the context of a particular object and automatically relate new work to the record the user is viewing, and global actions, which can be placed anywhere actions are supported but do not create those automatic relationships. Choose object-specific when the work belongs to the current record, and global when the same action should appear on Home, Chatter, the Global Actions menu, or other pages that are not tied to one object.
